Introducing Jean Joseph

Mr. Jean S. Joseph was born in 1975 in the City of Petit Goave, Haiti. Though he migrated to the United States, with his mother, brothers, and sisters and was educated in New York City public schools, he never lost his passion to help The people of Haiti.

He realized early on that it was not enough witness the needs of people in Haiti, rather he determined that he could make a difference with perseverance and a plan. In 2002, Mr. Joseph began the humanitarian work that led to the establishment of the Haitian Help Program Inc. to respond to the most basic needs of the Haitian people. For the past seven years, Mr. Joseph has responded to the immediate needs of children and families in the City of Petit Goave by providing food, water, clothing, shoes, and school supplies with personal funds.

As President and CEO of the Haitian Help Program, Mr. Joseph has contributed personal resources and raised funds to implement sustainable programs to improve the lives of the residents of Petit Goave and beyond. His initial efforts included a transportation company that provided jobs and transportation from Petit Goave to Port Au Prince. Revenue from this effort was used to purchase land that has since provided agricultural jobs.

Job creation has been an underlying theme of the projects Mr. Joseph has pursued. In addition to transportation and agricultural jobs, he has funded and had built a reservoir located in Petit Goave. This not only brought a source of clean water to the residents and to his farmland for irrigation, it provided jobs for those who constructed it.

The vision of the Haitian Help Program, under the direction of Mr. Jean Joseph is to have a positive impact on the lives of people in Haiti. Mr. Joseph’s projects help, but are not handouts. The core of each project is sustainability, starting with infrastructure projects, agriculture, and transportation which will provide the revenues needed to build housing, a school, and a health care facility. Ultimately, these projects will ensure that every child in the Petit Goave Township can attend school and have access to health care.
